has a diploma in painting from Sir J.J. School of Art, 1965, and a post graduation in printmaking from M.S.University, 1972, Baroda

She has had 18 solo exhibitions in India and abroad apart from 43 group shows in India and overseas. They include shows in Germany 1976, 1976 USA, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman 2004

Mehra has participated in Arad Biennale, Romania, 2005; 2nd Asian-European art Biennale, Ankara, Turkey, 1988; Contemporary Indian Art Biennial, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal, India, 1989; 6th Triannale, New Delhi, India,1986.

She has attended international residencies in Malaysia, Liverpool, Israel, Kenya, Cambodia and Brazil.

Mehra eleborates on her work “Critiquing & looking rhythmically at our environment, into our newage, driven with the dogmas of growth & development, I use foundimages from our day to day life, from daily newspapers, magazines & images from my current environment.

My observation is that something is not rotten in the state but in the viscera of civil society, in our system. I am questioning the notion of progress with the stubborn opposition and the stance of a protester.”

She lives and works in Mumbai.
